This is a large fountain pen made using Tasmanian Eucalyptus Burl. Being a very brittle and fragile material, I first stabilized the wood using various resins. For additional strength, I then sleeved the insides with Black Ebonite. I also created Black Ebonite finials and center band including bronze accent rings. I finally complimented the Tasmanian Eucalyptus figure, with a hand shaped Damascus steel clip. It is finished with a very durable high gloss finish.
