The coating on this pen holder is a friction polish formula including shellac, walnut oil and wax. It is durable and water resistant. No coating will be completely waterproof. Please do not leave ink or water on your holder for too long, wipe dry with a soft cloth or paper towel. Never leave any pen holder standing in any liquid. Also bear in mind that some inks may contain staining ingredients which it is impossible to protect against. Never use strong chemicals or cleaning agents on your holder.
To keep the shine on your holder, gently polish with a soft cloth. If required, a light coating of furniture polish/wax can be applied.
